Why Consistency is a Consistent KEY In A Relationship

As my birthday approaches (16th March in case you want to know and presents would be welcomed hehe) it's crazy to think how many of us envisioned being married by 25. If I had indeed got married at that age, I would have no doubt ended up on TV with Judge Lynn Toler on Divorce Court arguing with my partner and humming like Deitra Hicks trying to keep my CRB clean and not punch him in his Adam's apple.

To think I would be ready for marriage at the age of 25 is absolutely RIDICULOUS

Now,
Before you all chew me up, those that have indeed got married at a young age you have every right to get married when you choose to, after all I don't pay your bills and I do not judge those that do.
Furthermore, from a historical viewpoint many of our grandparents were married at a young age and are still rocking that old school love which I aspire to have myself one day. We are however, living in a different time and era. The reason why I think being married at 25 would have been a mistake for me is simply due to the fact that at 25 personally I did not know myself completely.

What the hell is she talking about?

I loved being 25 you're in the mid twenties so you don't feel like an absolute baby but you're beginning to grow into your womanhood. You begin to become appreciative of the small things that as a teenager and young adult you sometimes missed because you were too busy turning up, going out, living life, drunk, hungover, enjoying freedom from the studying etc. Turning 25 is when most truly ask themselves "where do I want to be in 5 years?".
You begin to actually plan your life...no seriously you realise that you can't be living everyday like your name is Peter Pan and you're going to live forever, this is not Neverland, this is EARTH.

Now, nearly 4 years later I have questioned many times the difference between the

man I want..and the man I need

If your friends asked you what your ideal man is you would be able to say it without a second thought or a pause for breath from A to Z . You would be able to say what he would looked like, where he worked, what he would do for you, how tall he would be, and all the traits that you would love and of course his penis would be HEAVENLY... you wouldn't say that last point aloud but you damn sure would be thinking it.
From childhood we've been conditioned to whole "Prince Charming" complex and we have many Male Crush Mondays to Fridays that we lust over via social media or as our screensavers, don't act like you haven't!
Sometimes the men I have chosen to be with have been... questionable  stupid as fuck, there are particular ones I feel like slapping the crap out of myself over, and one that completely makes my nipples go in. But nevertheless it's been an interesting learning curve for myself and alcohol has been very therapeutic for me when these instances has happened. Kiss my ass so what!

However a few years ago after reading "The Five Love Languages" it highlighted the importance of how I needed to be love in particular, the type of acts that communicated that someone loved me and made me feel like I'm the only girl in the world *starts singing Rihanna's song*
One thing that unfortunately that I am seeing less and less of, is the importance of consistency with a relationship.
Consistency connotes several things within a relationship (get your glass of wine because I'm about to start preaching)
It says to your partner that you are aware of your commitment and active participation within that relationship. You understand your responsibility for not only your happiness but your partners, you now have to learn about everything good, bad and ugly of your partner in order to know how much they rely on you for emotional support, advice, stability, reliability, happiness and some good loving to make them unable to walk for a good 10 minutes or formulate a sentence...just saying.
When a person is consistent, it immediately makes you feel that the person is someone that you can depend on. In the world of work, they are not going to give someone the job that they think is not going to be able to get it done.
So why would you get into a relationship with someone that you can't trust will follow through with not just words but action?
Many people have speeches better than Obama himself of what they WOULD do for you if they were in a relationship with you. At first when you are dating and getting to know each other it's all flowers, fairies and fucking glitter and think you've found this amazing person who is feeding your ego with compliments and all the plans they have for you in the future. You try your best not to get excited from just all the sweet talk and your fan fan is doing backflips in your knickers when the person is vocal about how much they like you which just adds to your womb pressure and you can't wait to see them again.
In the early days of the relationship both sides are trying to show off their best qualities to impress each other as well as keep each other keen, because let's be real competition is fierce out there but we all have things about us that make us special and you best tap into your awesomeness and be aware of what you bring into a relationship before you get into one. Better yet, I encourage you to think about

1. What attributes do you bring into a relationship?
2. What do you think your partner sees in you when in a relationship?
3. How do you ensure that you are being an active boyfriend/girlfriend?
4. How do you maintain the balance between your own happiness and your partners happiness?
5. What do you need from your partner within a relationship?

Unfortunately some begin to become lazy or complacent within the relationship. I don't understand why it becomes so hard to MEAN WHAT YOU SAY! I forget nothing...well not intentionally anyway! I'm getting older so sometimes my memory is a bit of a myth but thanks to modern technology it keeps a log of texts and WhatsApp messages so the evidence is always logged on the things we both have said, it's like having your own personal PA without asking!
A partner has no choice but to take your word in the beginning stages of your relationship mostly because they are still getting to know you. So when you are being told that you're a spontaneous person who likes to go out regularly with your partner doing different things, additionally if we've had several active dates and then 6 months down the line I feel like I have to force you to even be asked to go to the bottom of my road to go to Nandos with me ...it makes you question the person you really are.
Now...
No one is perfect, we all have lives to lead and sometimes we wish that we could more but circumstances and life gets in the way which can throw you off completely. So there will be times when you let your partner down and you have to cancel plans you've made. It's annoying as hell but it comes with the territory.
However, when your inconsistency becomes a regular occurrence it is picked up on and it makes your partner start to look at your with a side eye...literally. You will begin to look at your partner in a completely different way and start to question not only what they say to you currently but what you have to them beforehand. And let me tell you something for free...when a person starts questioning your character it's not...a...good...thing...ever.
Inconsistency can also lead to someone starting to resent you and not like you as a person...and eventually not even being sexually attractive to you...unless you have that GOOD GOOD in the bedroom, it seems many people don't have no issue with being consistent in THAT area though!! I'm just saying.
It's even more of a headache when you have an inconsistent partner in your life but they can blow your BACK OUT every....single...time. I can not express how frustrating that is and I'm not going to lie good sex is hard to walk away from...excuse the pun but it's true. If the only thing you can make happy is my kitty cat...then we have problems my friend!
Furthermore even after you feel like your partner has moved your ovaries into your intestines you then start thinking about what is lacking within your relationship and how your needs are still not being met which causes you to feel even more unhappy. Unhappiness and a sore womb is never a good combination.

Telling your partner that you aren't happy is never an easy conversation to have, no matter how much you try to butter it up and put a cherry on top. However it is imperative to be able to stand up for yourself and say what you want because no one wants complacency within a relationship.  As humans we are not natural mind readers but when you truly know your partner you can go off their body language, signals, or vibes to see when something isn't right and some choose to ignore that purposely because they don't want to have the conversation about what the issues are within their relationship. If a partner truly cares about your feelings and how they've made you feel, then it will take them listening to what you have to say, taking it on board and acknowledging what they need to do to get your relationship back on track and to make it grow stronger in the long run.
As a person with a HUGE amount of pride, being told that I'm not doing something right angers my spirit. It's not that I'm a perfectionist...but I don't like knowing that my actions have knowingly or unknowingly hurt someone's feelings. Besides I think I'm a FRIGGING AWESOME GIRLFRIEND KISS MY ASS SO WHAT!
But...
You are not going out with yourself therefore a person's perception about you is going to be different. Your maturity will decipher whether you take their criticisms on board or you choose to stay in your old ways to test how long that person will put up with that...and eventually they won't because everyone has a breaking point.

As I approach my 29th birthday and continue to not be dickstracted, I've realised that consistency has to be a foundation for any relationship or friendship that I have. My friend circle is small because I know who I can continuously rely upon and I will hold my next partner to the same regard. So until then, I will continue to go to what always makes me happy God, family, friends, music, UFC fight night, alcohol, ice-cream, Scandal, How To Get Away With Murder, and my beloved ratchet programs to just name a few!

Feel free to comment below on the 5 questions I posed in this blog would love to hear your opinion!

Age Ain't Nothing But A Number

Isn't it funny how when we get older our "age limit" seems to rise, I remember when I thought that me being with a 25yr old was pushing the boat but now I'm 21 it's not much a biggie! But I wanna know:

HOW IMPORTANT IS AGE IS A FACTOR OF GOING OUT WITH SOMEONE?

Alot of people like to assume that boys/girls younger than themselves are immature and that elders are a better match! Although I don't think that its necessarily true. Now before you think I'm a female R Kelly (its emotional) I have my limits when it comes to the youngers (who wants to go jail out here?) The youngest I've been wid was 18 turning 19 and I was 20 at the time. He was a little crazy (as am I lol) but he was very mature for his age and we had plenty of deep conversations. On the other hand 1 of my ex's were 27 and he turned out to be a BASTARD (don't laugh its the truth!)
I think regardless of their age, it depends on there personality and level of maturity. Now don't get fooled because ALOT of people THINK that there mature, but as soon as you do something or there's a situation that's out of their comfort zone they back out like a BITCH (holla if ya HEAR me)

Although I ain't gonna lie, it's really NOT about meeting your girl/man outside their college, that's really emotional (don't laugh) If you're not in uni than I can't deal with you I'm sorry. Imagine when I meet your family and I'm big hard back 21yrs of age, they'll be thinking "can't this girl get someone her own age" I don't wanna be helping you out with your A Level coursework (don't laugh because I know I am not the only one that was glad to leave secondary school and college). The same way that sometimes the elders can go on a bit TOO OLD and they they think that you don't know anything because your younger than them (that UPSETS my waters and my soul.)
So like I said before it depends on the person and be careful who you pick and don't assume you know everything about that person because of their age, don't be quick to judge!!!

Can I Take My Leftovers Home?

& I'm not talking about food either (don't laugh yet) I'm talking about your ex boyfriends, girlfriends, and links. I'll tell you bout a personal experience of mine (its emotional because I don't usually let people know my personal life but ANYWAY...)

I remember when I was having a conversation with my ex, him and I didn't break up on bad terms (like some y'all lol) so we were still friends. Anyway, obviously from time to time we would still harmlessly flirt (it's only natural) but mostly we would buss joke. NOW, in 1 of our conversations I remember asking him "So what have you been up to" and he replied "nothing much, same old really and going to see my girl ..." I can't remember the rest of the conversation because from when I heard "girl" it was emotional (don't laugh). I remember this feeling of rage boil up inside of me and automatically feeling vex!

Now there are many reasons for this:

a) He's got a girl and I'm still single.

b) He's got a girl and I'm still single (yes I repeated it, I want you to feel me!)

c) He's got a girl and I'm still single and I know she can't TOUCH ME! yeah i was slightly hating, and I know i ain't the only person to ever think this).

d)He's got a girl and I'm still single so he's not even an "option" for my late night booty calls (he's a faithful partner as am I.)

e) He's got a girl and I'm still single and who am I gonna trouble now?

f)Do I even HAVE any boyfriend material around right now??

Now don't get me wrong I'm not saying that I wanted to get back with my ex(because I know some of you are thinking that from my reaction don't laugh). That wasn't the case at all, like my mother said "you're ex is an ex for a reason" and I truly believe that. I think my problem was that he had a girlfriend and that i DIDN'T have a boyfriend. It wasn't a competition, I wasn't in a rush to get into another relationship, and I wasn't waiting for an opportunity for us to get back together, but he was my leftovers and I wasn't quite done eating yet (you catch my drift!)

We ALL know its hard to let a good thing go, and I was over my ex but I was comfortable in knowing that he was at least THERE and I enjoyed da little flirtatious conversations we used to have. Now during that conversation I felt like Neo from the Matrix when he gets reborn (you know the part when its hard for him to take in the REALITY of the situation when Morpheus tries to educate him, don't laugh please this is a serious moment) I slyly felt like a bit of a fool, because from that moment on the mood of the conversation shifted and I found myself not having much 2say!!

I wasn't gonna lie and act like I wanted to know the details of his "new" relationship, because to be honest I didn't really care about his new girlfriend (its political) so I didn't ask him any questions when it came to her (and I KNOW I'm not the only person to have ever done this) but thanks to such things as FACEBOOK it became more n more apparent in my face about their relationship (damn you facebook lol)

It's like when you go to a restaurant and you're hungry and you eat all that you can, so you ask the waiter/ess to put it in 1 2 2 Tupperware for you so that you can enjoy it later. It's the SECURITY of knowing that if you get peckish from time to time you can draw for it and eat the rest (y'all get my drift yh I'm going DEEP)
Now once you find out that its been eaten by somebody else what are you left with? It's just you and you're empty stomach I lie? So you have to either make/order something else to eat or go hungry for the rest of the night.

This is just something I went through and I know its not only me (right??) and after my initial reaction I realised that he was actually genuinely happy with her and I was happy for him as well. Furthermore I wasn't angry as I thought I would be after a few glasses of wine (thank you Blossom Hill White Zinfandel ha ha).

So people, in general once you've broken up with a person you no longer have a say in what they choose to do with there life, if it has been established that there's no chance of you getting back together, then you have to slyly prepare yourself for this kind of conversation 1 day. I was lucky because my ex and me were good friends and we still are! Alot of us have good memories when it comes to our ex's and its difficult to think of someone else getting what you used 2 have. But the operative words are USED TO, so don't have a period over it and think its da end of the world its all a part of life I'm afraid!!

This Is My Friend....

Anyway, this note came 2me whilst I was sitting in a bar (yeah I get random thoughts in my head so what) and I decided since you guys keep it real with me I could tell you this.

NOW.....

We all have a lot of friends, and all our friends are different, different races, different ages, different sizes, complexions, etc etc. And that's great because you wouldn't obviously want all your friends to be the SAME that would be boring.

BUT.... (this is a serious moment so read carefully) let's keep it real, we can't always choose our friends and we can't help who we get on with. But you know there is one or two (or many) that aren't exactly "blessed" in the good looks department (don't laugh, its emotional) but you don't care because its your friend, and your not phased about their looks because you get on well with them. Give yourself a round of applause because that shows that you're not shallow and are a true friend...

HOWEVER.....
I KNOW (yes I'm gonna get emotional) that there are a GOOD amount of people (and no I'm not included in this population) that ABUSE this acknowledgment of their friends looks and take it to a next level.
I'm talking about these people that when there going out raving etc, they PURPOSELY invite their "ugly friend" because they know that it will slyly make them feel better about their appearance and looks (don't laugh, and if you are its because you've done it yourself, that's deep).

Or even worse when they go on "double dates" or there's opportunities where there's gonna be a small gathering of friends you holla at the people that you know/think are not as good looking as you because you don't wanna be out shined by someone else and feel like you're the "ugly friend", and you also invite some good looking ones so that you don't make yourself look to bait. (its political)

If you do these things then you are BAD MIND (don't laugh) it's not your friend's fault they look the way that they do, and how DARE you abuse their looks for your own personal gain!! That is SO shallow if you do these kinda things, and even WORSE its people like YOU (yes YOU) that when there "ugly friend" comes to there house to get ready or just to chill for a while you feed their head with false compliments i.e You look real nice today, ooo my days you make me feel like a tramp now I have to change.
What is wrong with you people??? It's not a competition out here!!

Some of you people have SERIOUS insecurity issues that you need to deal with BY YOURSELF, and if you have to use your friends in order to make you feel good about yourself then I hope that your friends soon realise this or better yet somebody uses YOU one day and then you'll know how it feels!!
Remember karma is a BITCH, so you might think that your "ugly friend" can't get no man/girl and on a sly there the one's that has the MOST gyal/man or better yet might even take YOUR woman/man (it has happened, don't laugh).

Looks aren't everything (yes there important but there not the be all and end all of a friendship/relationship), so your friend might not be pretty but they may have other attributes such as being funny, loyal, kind and that's the kinda of people that you should be privileged to have in your life, so STOP taking da piss!!! Because like I said it will be THEM having the last laugh when they take someone that you like. How does it feel? How does it feel? HOWowowowowowow does it feel?? (big funky tune, don't laugh)

CSI: London

What I'm gonna talk about is usually done by females, but this does not mean that men don't do it either, in fact more n more of you are doing it as well (its emotional!!)

What I wanna know is:

HOW MANY OF YOU GO THROUGH YOUR PARTNERS PHONE??

I know some of you are laughing coz you've done it, I'm not gonna lie when I was younger I was guilty of doing this, if a guy left there phone around and went out the room I would go through it. Now in those times (its emotional) when i was a teenager, most people didn't have a camera phone (remember wen the 8810 was the phone 2 have!) and even if u did have a camera phone the camera would be so WACK! So the most incriminating evidence was text messages. Your inbox was like your credit report of your personal life, some of you guys credit report was fair to good, BUT alot of guys had a BAD credit report, & we like fools from when we find 1 text that we don't like we keep going further and further into there history, & our fingers get more n more tense ( da smile quickly disappears from your face boi!) now with the advancement of picture messages, emails & videos on your phone there's even MORE evidence stored in your phone (its political)

When u hear them coming back, u quickly put it bk try remember how EXACTLY the fone was left and all sorts (don't wanna look bait) or some of u blatantly just stay with da fone in ur hand with ur vex self (that's alot), now you know what ever u've seen is automatically gonna start an argument, a) the person is gona b pissed coz you went through there personal property (which is a valid argument) b) ur all amped up coz there sending "over friendly" texts to some1 else apart from you. Or you could b one them people that just be quiet from that point on n be all vex n awkward with them but don't tell why. Now wen u argue it could get real heated n i know some ppl have taken it out on da fone n ended up smashing it into pieces (its not Nokia or Samsungs fault is it? don't laugh and then the argument gets even more HEATED n I'm talking bout good old Jerry Springer days heated)

Now in ur memory wotever name or names (its alot its alot) dat u see appear 2much in there fone will forever remain etched in ur brain (our memory is interesting like dat), so you either use it as a tool in a argument "who da fuck is Alisha/Dwayne", "don't ask me 2do nothing 4 u ask Alisha/Dwayne (to which there reply would b "wot are u talking bout" and after a few words the realisation that you've gone through there fone) or whenever u see or hear them talking to that particular person you TENSE up n get vex n listen 2 da every word of the conversation (why is he/she smiling so much talking to them? thinks I'm stupid? yh u try talk in code to show that you're wid me so they have 2 call you bk, y is she/he calling u late think i dunno bout booty calls? DON'T LAUGH!)

This situation used 2 happen ALOT back in the day and broke up alot of relationships and phones (who had insurance bk in them days are u mad?!) it was emotional trust, but now ppl have learnt there lesson, that's that wonderful thing called a PIN lock (ooo my days whoever initiated it into phone's must have gone through it plenty of times themselves), or ppl just automatically delete there inbox and sent messages daily (which I personally think means you have something 2 hide lol) or you simply take ur fone EVERYWHERE wid u, even wen ur going on the toilet 2 da DREAD number 2! (its emotional).

If you go through ur partners phone I think it shows a level of insecurity and lack of trust, I've learnt through these situations that ignorance is BLISS, if his actions or for any reason makes u think he's playing the field then confront him about it, I know its hard wen you don't have no legal evidence but that's a invasion of privacy doing that.

Some of out go OVER EXCITED with this CSI detective movements and have even started looking through peoples drawers and even there emails, facebook and pictures on there computer (what are u doing?? do you work for MI5?) That actually disturbs my waters do u know how CRAZY you are if you do that shit?? You've got serious problems if you do, my bedroom is MY PERSONAL SPACE,n i don't let everyone n any1 in there so if I do than I have to be very comfortable with you and its a big step for me so don't take this piss, unless I'm specifically showing things in my room then sit there, look at the pics on the wall n enjoy my company nah!!!

Yes, sometimes going through there fone makes you find things that you wouldn't necessarily have found out any other way, because there are some natural born liars (Some of you lot are sliicckkk with the lies, they just roll of ur tongue without u even having 2 think!) so sometimes it was ur last option, but don't at the end of the day that is THERE PERSONAL PROPERTY and its disrespectful to do that I know some of you ppl are thinking "well if they didn't have anything 2hide then we wouldn't have this problem" I hear you I really do but don't be wid some1 that you don't trust (can I get a witness?) In some cases I know its wrong to say but IGNORANCE IS BLISS, I'd rather NOT know and hopefully find out one day and be naturally shocked and angry, then go through ur fone and wait to see how long it takes you to tell me (coz TRUST that day is NOT gonna come!) and you'll feel like MORE of a fool.

SHUT UR MOUUTTTTTT

I've reached my boiling point when it comes 2this SHIT! (I know that some of you are smiling already) but please hear me out. I'm gonna tell you about my morning:

On Tuesday 2nd December @ 8.00AM I got on the 220 bus to Hammersmith to go to work, EVERYONE knows that its BLITZ outside. Their mothers and babies, school kids and workers on the bus.I'm sitting nicely in my seat thinking bout what VITC notes I'm gonna write when I hear:

* COUGH COUGH *

Now I KNOW alot of people are ill and have flu, but I'm HEALTHY do not disturb my equilibrium because yours is all FUCKED UP!! Anyway back to my story, I'm still facing forward trying to remain calm and AGAIN I hear

*COUGH COUGH & the sound of someone spitting up phlegm*

This FUCKING man was coughing so much that I felt the impact of his cough on the back of my hat (don't laugh this is real emotional). By now this man has really got on my TIT. It's bad enough that you're coughing in my presence but you have a fucking cheek not to cover your mouth.

DO I LOOK LIKE I WANT 2B SICK??

Don't take the piss and I know these people were brought up with manners, all it takes is you to cover your mouth with hand, stop being so IGNORANT and SELFISH!! For 21 years I've never had the flu and I want to keep it that way.

ANYWAY, still on my journey (lost myself 4a while) this man keeps coughing and spitting phlegm on the bus floor (by now I wanna throw up) and what does this FANNY FINGER do 2 top it all off?

HE FUCKING BURPS!!! & I'm talking LOUD.

That was game, set and match for me, I turned my head SO QUICKLY, and told him straight

" Cover your mouth man, you've been spreading your germs all over this bus since I got on, have some respect because you're ill don't mean EVERYONE else wants to be, cough on more fucking time without covering your mouth and I'll kick you clean down the stairs"

After this lil outburst, the man got up and sat clean at the front of the bus.

NO I don't feel bad 4him, he's a grown ass man, even people at the bus expressed their thanks 2me for finally saying something.

You know the icing on the cake? I came off the bus and throat felt a lil tickly, I was thinking in my head "God PLEASE tell me I don't have a cold" I went and got a hot drink and concluded that I was just a lil thirsty lol

People, I'm a singer I NEED MY VOICE and HEALTH, so if you find anyone doing the same thing around you MEK DEM 2 BLOODCLART KNOW!! coz you'll be pissed if your in bed the next day sick and you DUN KNOW I ain't coming to you either!
